Commemoration of World AIDS Day 2019

As we commemorate World AIDS Day 2019, theme observance “Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Communities Make a Difference.” EPHWOR is live and mindful of empowering communities and young people to empower others in attaining a community based approach to prevent new HIV/AIDS infections. Observance of the National theme “Empowering Young People to Champion the End of New Infections”, young people contribute 34% of new infections which is a big percentage, empowering them and equipping them with the knowledge of SRHR is a key piece to ensure that new HIV/AIDS infections reduce tremendously. Young people are the future of our country with absolute knowledge we believe they will be able to embrace and ascertain the measures put in place towards ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Together with our partners, Mbarara Corporate Club(MCC), Mbarara Skilling Youth Initiative (MSYI) and Panadol Foundation, we joined the people of Kihani in Ibanda to commemorate World AIDS DAY as a continuation of 16 days of activism against Gender based violence. We managed to do HIV counseling and testing, conducted a training on Gender based violence and Sexual  Reproductive Health and Rights awareness, provision of dental services and oral health education to women and girls. Over 195 were reached during the celebrations.
